Apple Is Removing Spyware Applications, Including AD Blocker submitted by Black_Soul_Barbie to technology

TwilightShadow1 0 points 28 points (+28|-0) ago

For pity's sake, did anyone read the article? Apple is removing a handful of ad blockers that installed root certificates that had the ability to intercept encrypted data including browsing habits and bank information. This is a good move for everyone concerned with their privacy.

Windows 10 users are being banned from torrent sites. submitted by llagerlof to technology

I'd imagine that they're more concerned with Microsoft intercepting incoming or outgoing traffic and redirecting it to law enforcement, MPAA, et al.

How Oklahoma went from two quakes a year to 585 submitted by vicarious to news

TwilightShadow1 1 points 11 points (+12|-1) ago

As someone who has experienced this first hand, it's gotten to be a serious problem for home and building owners. Oklahoma buildings were not made with earthquakes in mind, and our house has suffered so much structural damage over the past few years from the quakes, and I even saw one of the older university buildings lose a corner (which took months to fix). I only hope that there's still time to stop this before it's too late.

New Rules in KIA draw a lukewarm response from the community and more mod drama. submitted by Moosh_Banger to KotakuInAction

TwilightShadow1 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Man, I completely missed all of this. Just thinking off of the top of my head though, perhaps this whole issue could be resolved if a single head mod did no moderation, but instead only swapped out moderators every couple of months based on a community vote.
