Teen Monitoring Apps Don't Work and Just Make Teens Hate Their Parents, Study Finds submitted by daskapitalist to technology

Does anyone actually build relationships with their kids based on communication, understanding, mutual respect, and trust?

Or is it the norm now to just neglect them until they are confused teenagers and then massively over-correct to make up for it?

Does anyone actually think that just being the "specter of punishment" in your kid's life is going to end well?

I'm SMALL for a fat person

I'm sober for a drunk.

It's true.

Be honest, how many here lift 600lbs just getting out of bed in the morning?

Man waves pro-police flag outside Arkansas Nike store. They respond by calling law enforcement. submitted by Steelerfish to news

I don't see the blue stripe flag as being "pro-police"

It actually stands for a lack of criticality... which imho is actually the leading cause of police deaths/injuries.

Disgusting obeast parents give their child marijuana to reward him for good behavior submitted by Siacca to fatpeoplehate

A parent of an obese child who gave them candy for good behavior wouldn't even make the news. Guess they have to grasp at straws to try and keep the war on drugs going.

Apparently spellcheck doesn't recognize the word "criticality" sorry.

What I mean is that essentially there's a huge segment of the population that never asks themselves "Should this be a law?" "Should cops be occupying their time and resources doing this? Is there nothing better they could be doing?" or "Is this action by law enforcement making things better or worse?"

There's a huge obesity problem facing police (which likely contributes more to excessive force/officers being killed or injured than people realize) Cops are more likely to kill themselves (both intentionally and unintentionally) than they are to be killed by any other means.

The drug war (if we pretend that the goal of it was to eliminate the use of drugs and fight the gangs that profit off of them) has been an abysmal failure.

I can't help but think that things would be a lot different if they focused their attention on actual violent crimes than just trying to micromanage everyone's existence and generate revenue from the populous.
