The eternal moderation dilemma, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this one submitted by Atko to announcements

What is more awesome is that you FPH people do a VERY good job at keeping your content in your little corner. I like that and commend you. You do not 'spill' out into the rest of the subs, usually, and fill them up with rants about your opinions. I'm a natural skinny guy so I checked out your corner and did not find it appealing but it is not like I care what you do with your space. I like that you are open about it and keep your content there on your side of the playground.

I appreciate that. I think others would be well suited to examine how you accomplish it and consider trying to encourage the same.

Control variables are incompatible with feminism because "the very idea of control is viewed as a masculine approach" submitted by voltagegate to science

I thought you were misinterpreting, lying, or joking.

WTF? I actually am a retired scientist. That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Without a control, you have no viability. That is worse than the recent comments I've read where people don't understand the importance of falsifiability.

Your ISP should be nothing more than a dumb pipe. That's it. You should be allowed to run servers of various types, without needing to be a network engineer. They should add nothing and do nothing other than ensure QoS and uptime. Hell, I don't even want them to offer email, though I suppose they could offer those sorts of things in addition to the dumb pipe. Make things like notifications (such as this) optional - and opt-in. Hell, they can even upsell it to inept people.

Just sell me a connection and get out of my way. (That's what my ISP mostly seems to do. I've noticed no manipulation.)

Well, we found the ITG.

A protest is absolutely speech, but I think we agree that it shouldn't be more than a peaceful protest and shouldn't prevent the activity.

I am unable to find any evidence that suggests these people weren't citizens.

I could see a logical argument for greater autonomy for cities, as opposed to letting one area of a country heavily influence another. We'd probably need to change some laws.
