The Pharma Jerk We All Hated Last Month Still Hasnt Dropped the Price of That Drug submitted by ElementalPee to news

Of course not.

There is a long history of people like him being able to anger hundreds of thousands if not millions of people severely without any negative effects coming to them. Perhaps if society's psychopaths occasionally killed people like him maybe he'd have a reason to change his policy, but until that starts happening no one is going to worry about angering millions of people (and therefore thousands of psychopaths).

School cancels 'America Day' over fears it might offend students who don't consider themselves to be American submitted by dv1155 to news

The creepy cult thing where they praise a piece of cloth as if its a holy symbol and pledge undying loyalty to the motherland? No, I think they got rid of that in the mid-40s when the hitler youth programs got shut down.

The /v/all subverse does not belong to the mods, and the mods should not have the ability to remove a post from it.

Seems to me making deletions of especially high-scoring posts simply punt the discussion to a generic subverse while keeping everything intact would be a proper compromise.

True. But it is essentially the core of this whole issue. People will watch /v/all and treat it as a conglomeration of the articles the population of voat find important for the moment. For a lot of people it will be the majority of their usage of the site. A post being on /v/all has meaning, and it is my opinion that mod action shouldn't have influence over /v/all. If the /v/news mods want to remove some article about whatever trade agreement or government leak from their subverse, go ahead and let them, but they shouldn't be able to remove that post from the #1 spot on /v/all after its gotten there.
