For the benefit of newcomers, what behavior was acceptable on Reddit but totally unacceptable here? submitted by Mattvision to AskVoat

Reddit didn't always have a hive mind. As it grew bigger it became increasingly hard to share unpopular views. Now once you get a few downvotes you're sure to get a lot more from people just going with the flow.

This place reminds me a lot of what Reddit looked like 10 years ago.

New Canadian Prime Minister thinks that GamerGate and "misogyny" in video games are things "we" should stand against submitted by Troll to gaming

We kicked out a massive douche in favor of a smaller douche. He's got the potential to be pretty good, but can get pretty bad too.

Baby steps I guess.

On topic I think the whole GG issue gets misrepresented somewhat outside the gaming culture. John Oliver's segment on it missed a lot too.

A while ago I made a website that shows gaming news from popular gaming sites on a never ending page! I'd be really happy if you checked it out! submitted by SirTimmyTimbit to gaming

Hi guys!

I've been a long time member at Reddit but relatively new to Voat! I hope it's alright to post my site here.

About 3 years ago I got fed up with visiting 5-6 different sites everyday to read up on video games. Pop ups, blogspam and just the time it took to visit them all made the process really ineffecient. Desktop RSS readers weren't all that great, plus a lot of the blogspam still got through.

So I made The Gamer's Post, a site that gathers news articles from popular gaming sites and shows them (minus the clutter) on a single, never ending, multi-column page.

You can also customize which sites (feeds) you want to read articles from, by clicking on Customize at the bottom of the home page.

Then I pushed a big update through last year that added a whole bunch more news feeds, and gave you the ability to pick and choose which feeds you want to see. I added several new feeds last week and thought this would be a good time to post about it.

I'd be really happy if you checked it out :)

I'll copy and paste the following bit from an older thread at Reddit.

The Gamer's Post gathers news articles from popular gaming sites and shows them (minus the clutter) on a single, never ending, multi-column page.

I haven't really put any work into it since it started off as a hobby project in 2012. I made a significant amount of changes to it over the last year.

What it really is

It really is a glorified RSS reader. You can do the same thing with a site like Feed Reader or an app like Press. While those services are designed for all types of content, TGP is strictly about gaming content. TGP loads faster, formats better and displays more content per page than an RSS reader.

It updates on it's own frequently and displays up to 3 paragraphs an article. If an article has a video attached to it you can watch it right from the site. If you wish to post/read comments on an article, or want to share it you can do it from the site that posted it.

Just like your list of subscribed subs you can pick and choose which sites you want to read articles from.

It's mobile, tablet and high-resolution monitor friendly!

Depending on the device you are browsing from, TGP will add or remove columns and even resize them to fit your screen properly.

On touch enabled devices you can swipe left and right to open and close the menu.

The highest resolution that TGP is optimized for right now is 2560 x 1600. I haven't tested the site on anything other than an iPhone 4s and Nexus 4. So please contact me if you experience a bug visiting TGP from your device.

A site that you like isn't on the list?

Right now TGP has about 37 different feeds. If a site you like isn't on the list please contact me and I will add it, provided it has an RSS feed!

Last time a few people with gaming sites contacted me to be added to the list. I could not at the time due to technical and design limitations. But this time around it should be a breeze!

Bugs, glitches, suggestions

I'd really appreciate it If you can let me know when you find something not working properly. I'd also appreciate any suggestions you might have to make the site better.

Two years ago in the thread people asked for a Microsoft Word / code editor theme. I could work on one if there's demand. I could also look into making a theme that is less taxing on bandwidth, older devices and software.

How are we going to handle flare? submitted by Bubbaluke to VapingClassifieds

Hmm...I agree with you that we should start fresh. If those high ranking sellers sell here they can always use their profiles there as a supplement. Not sure though, I'm fine with whatever.

Also I should point out I don't really have much interest in moderating this sub :( I just wanted to post my ad here, which was impossible without creating the sub verse first lol.

+1 for Origen V3 as well. Very easy to build and great flavor under 30 watts.
