Companies are using programming "competitions" to get the product of thousands of man-hours for free while only awarding a relatively small prize to a single winner. submitted by KikeFree to technology

You see this in the tech sector especially with startups. Call it a coding competition, offer some dinky prizes and maybe some free food and booze. Startups are responsible for this type of mentality. I freelance to tech companies and I have seen them use these kinds of competitions to get work done for free or to beta test their apps or products, use coop students to do their coding or just overwork their development teams and spit them out. Tech companies are really starting to become the legitimate slave masters.

Felt strange not being able to get my daily fix. Once you get on the goatweed it is hard to get off.

As a Canadian I can guarantee this is bullshit. Maybe like 10 virtue signallers who preach to the rest of us while on their IPhone at Starbucks.

I can understand how it does creep up especially when you hit a certain age. But not to an extreme like most of them claim. Last year I was living a pretty sedentary lifestyle and being a Canadian male I love my beer. I started to develop a paunch and I never had that before. Clothes started getting tighter and I really start feeling bad in my skin. So, I cut out the beer and replaced it with wine. Curbed my meal plan and replaced any beverage with water. Started exercising more often and focused on trimming down. Now all the clothes that started feeling tight I now need a belt and will never allow myself to slip again.
But I will admit that it did creep on me and it wasn't such a drastic turn in lifestyle. Age, activity and lack of dietary responsibility can easily add up to 15-20 pounds a year.

Seriously you are a nuisance on Voat. I will downvoat you as much as I can. Reading through the posts you have nothing to offer except your own incorrigible filth. Your day is done, bon voyage, aurevoir.
