Petition Calls For Jon Stewart To Moderate A Presidential Debate submitted by hyperaddic to news

Megyn Kelly just hosted a debate... You don't think she is biased?

What isn't clear here is this... are people suggesting Jon Stewart moderate a Democrat debate, or moderate a full main election debate? I think he'd be fine for a democrat debate, but not for the main debates.

I'm super liberal and given a lot of thought to gun control, here's my 2 cents.

I don't support any further outright bans, so assault rifles are fine in my book. They aren't used in a lot of crimes, and aren't particularly more dangerous than other types of firearms.

But I absolutely support proper background checks, and full registration. Your car, your home, you yourself, even your children are all registered with the gov't in one way or another. Why not register the deadly firearms you own, to make sure that criminals and crazy people can't easily get guns. Make it illegal to own an unregistered weapon. If the registered gun is used in crime, the registered owner is liable, unless reported stolen within 24 hours. This, combined with a lot of tough police work, would make it very difficult for criminals and crazy people to get guns.

Gun Control absolutely DOES work if done right. Australia is a perfect example of successful gun control.

You were the first child born in Man's first colony on Mars. 20 years later, your family is taking a vacation to visit earth. What are you most excited for? submitted by hbr to AskVoat

I would be quite excited to experience earths vastly higher gravity. Oh wait, actually that would kinda suck. For reference Mars is only 40% of earth gravity, which is a huge problem for possible colonization that most people don't talk about. Humans evolved for earth gravity, anything lower will cause serious problems over time.

This is a great idea, I dislike the idea of subverse fragmentation, better to keep it together, and encourage tagging.
