Comcast customer discovers huge mistake in companys data cap meter submitted by FreeSpeachRocks to technology

Real issue is why do we have data caps at all. Total garbage and simply a made up barrier / meter to make money.

Sessions to end policy that let legal pot flourish submitted by Titus-of-Voat to news

Roody15 1 points 15 points (+16|-1) ago

Our Democracy may not be working. The fact is citizens on both the left and right don't really care about legal pot and want the government to stop imprisoning people on non violent pot charges. This is sad and perfect example of big business and a corporate oligarchy running the show.

Big Pharma -> lobbying to get patented cannabinoid compounds = expensive health care model Private Prisons -> lobbying to get more docile, easy going prisoners ....

Why can't a social network like Voat be run like 'The Pirate Bay' with content spread across a network of participants, therefore negating the need for corporate sponsorship? submitted by Jesuislegrandezombie to technology

I think aether is kind of what you are asking about. Distributed network no centralized hosting, Similar to voat and reddit, albeit communities are smaller as is new.

HuffPo Writer: I Will not Have Children So I Will not Spread my White Privilege submitted by Mercer-Frey to politics

In my experience "poor" people tend to reproduce much more frequently then those with money and those with higher education.

/v/politics is currently half Bernie Sanders, largely the same story. Give it a bit of a rest, guys? submitted by didntsayeeeee to politics

Roody15 4 points -1 points (+3|-4) ago

Wealth inequality at historic highs, perhaps closing in on unsustainable levels. Bernie is the only candidate addressing this issue in any meaningful way. Economists and Wall Street continue the narrative that all is well using metrics that are more and more disconnected from most Americans reality.

New AAA Lord of the Rings MMO Announced - and it's F2P garbage, woo-hoo. submitted by ArsCortica to gaming

Roody15 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

He’s right. Another example is NBA games. I went to a bulls game last year and it was only 1/3 full. 2/3 of the seats were empty. Why? Because they make more money charging 120$+ per ticket and only selling 1/3 of the seats than charging 20$ a ticket and selling out the stadium.
NFL also falls into this category often.
