What are some tips and tricks for voat that newcomers don't know? submitted by SgtSama to AskVoat

This is super useful advice, and I wouldn't have known about it. Thanks for posting it, man. Followup question: is there a post made by admins that detail information like this? I would assume so, but I've yet to find it.

"I used to respect Alexis Ohanian. After this, not quite so much."

That actually made me mutter "holy shit" under my breath at work.

TIL More Americans watched the Women's World Cup final than the NBA Finals or the Stanley Cup submitted by Synth to TIL

That's really cool! I really like hockey, so hopefully the Stanley Cup grows in ratings soon, but this is good to hear. Soccer and women's sports alike need more attention in the US.

I think that's a flawed argument because most people do not think women are comparatively as good as men at sports. If that were the case, they would have one league for men and women together, and not separated. The leagues are separated because of the fact that in most cases women are at a disadvantage at sports when compared to men. However, humans are competitive by nature, and watching two teams of people at roughly equal passion and skill value (Both teams being me or both being women) is a joy to watch and to participate in.

The only reason that I won't completely migrate to Voat is the lack of a decent app submitted by Epic_Triangles to pics

Can anyone vouch for voBrowser for Voat or Vulcan? From what I can tell they both look fairly similar to Sync for Reddit, but I haven't gotten a chance to play around with either yet. I'll probably get around to it tonight though. Until then, like others have said, the in browser mobile version is surprisingly good.

edit: After fooling around with Boats, voBrowser, Vulcan, and Versa, I have to say that Boats is the most functional of them right now. I don't particularly like the format (Never cared much for Reddit is Fun), so I can't wait to see how voBrowser improves, which I think has the most potential. As of now I'm sticking with Boats, though.
