[Discussion] What is the most out-of place, cringeworthy and/or immersion-breaking reference in video games you've seen? submitted by profanion to gaming

I do however like the way Retro City Rampage did it. "Playtesting shows that you weren't paying attention when we showed you how to do this before, so now we're going to make you do it again." If you're gonna foist tutorials on people, it goes a long way if they're entertaining.

I think it was OP's intention to start a dialog. Anyone can Google something, this here is a forum where people talk about things.

All of my video game related artwork (Earthbound, Dark Souls, Smash Bros, etc.) submitted by Bansheeindian to gaming

Wow, I love your Earthbound stuff!

I suggest adopting one of the rules of /r/letsplay and not allowing self promotion outside of specific circumstances in order to prevent this place from turning into a link graveyard. submitted by CameraLady to letsplay

Shouldn't there be a place for posting videos like this though? I mean, [the other site] had /r/letsplayvideos - I've seen no analog on Voat. There needs to be a repository for these kind of links, and right now /v/letsplay seems the most obvious to people. Might I suggest that if changes ARE made, and a sister-subverse pops up, please be SUPER obvious about it in the sidebar.

[Discussion] What was your first manga? How did you get into manga? submitted by voldenoir to manga

Paedin 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

  1. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

  2. I had loved the movie and when I saw this in a comic book shop, I HAD to pick it up. I loved how dirty the linework was, but nothing seemed out of place or scribbled. It gave the art a very unique look.

  3. It must have been around... 2000, 2001? I got a late start on manga.

  4. Seeing Miyazaki's beautiful art on the cover and being instantly drawn to it.

  5. Yep, since I was a tyke.
