I feel ya. Twitter: gone FB: gone GitHub: gone Two penpal sites: gone dating site: gone

Voat is the only "social" platform I have. I've tried and liked Diaspora, and Mastodon, but the tag subscription systems they use actually makes it harder to broaden my interests and connect with new people. Voat does this too and I spend several minutes a day logged off just to see content I don't automatically have access to while logged in. Between the forced communities of techgiant media and the naturally insular communities of Alt-Social; I real feel like I've got no where to go when I power up the craptop.

Disney / ABC hired a man convicted of molesting a 15-year-old Nickelodeon star, months after he was released from prison, to work on a children's show. submitted by Kyle_Rogers_2018 to news

Let's start looking into the lives of Nick and Disney kids after they left (or got too old, whatever). Off the top of my head: Miranda Cosgrove has dozens of rumors regarding cocaine addiction and gangbangs. 2 vids are said to exist Corey Feldman (spelling?) has stated publicly that sexual abuse occured and that hus now deceased co-star Corey Haim was raped at age 11 Alyson Mack... well then These are just off the top of my head, I vaguely remember 3 more actresses (but can't think of the names...) and I do believe Billy Ray Cyrus alluded to the oversexualization of Miley durring the Hanna Montana years. Good Ol' boy Walt was deep in with Hoover back in the day. I'm willing to bet whatever deals wehre made then have simply evolved over time. Sounds like a great crowd source reseach project: Hey folks, lets see what happened to our fav kid show stars! I bet a lot of drugs, non-disclosure agreements and self victimization will start bubbling up.

Fuck. Preemtive Revisionist History. If these assholes demand that their histories are off limits, then can we use this as grounds in a Class Action "Third Party Beneficiary" lawsuit against data miners? Can we use this as a precedent to invalidate clearnet related backround checks? If any of the voting Shareholders or Investors arePrivately Incorporated or exist as Personal Holding companies, can this be pushed to demand that digital records be invalidated in court? If this is argued properly, it might just be enough to get all the online kiidie porn trafficers out of jail because archival data was used before the author was allowed to modify it to prevent a "prejudicial narative" of chatroom and I2P traffic.

Should be a campaign to shame engineers who work for the deep state submitted by RugerLCP_2 to Showerthoughts

OnSeveralWatchLists 2 points -2 points (+0|-2) ago

No, there shouldn't. There should be a campaign to solicit help from and for the people who were tens of thousands of dollars in debt and desperately need jobs. A dumbass college kid that manages to land a job working for groups like Gallup, Nelnet, QualComm, whatever does not to be to "outed" and humiliated for having a job. A young father working for Ford as on-board systems quality checker is not even remotely responsible for an executive desicion to trade pre-order banking info to a Chinese Datafarm. A campaigne to "humiliate" people whose day to day jobs produce the product used by partner firms and contractors for shady shit is a horrid idea. It's the same mania that happened durring the French Revolution where each side took turns beheading each others bakers, prostitues and carpenters just for trying to live and earn a living. The most humane way to collapse "Deep State" is to find the normal people doing reasonable jobs and find out what sort of contract, non disclosure and non compete they're labouring under and provide legal support so that they can get out from under the constant threat of prosecution. If a "shame the working man" movement had been in place a few years ago, Snowden would have never come forward because he would have been reviled by the very people he was trying to help.

When the point of sale software bugs out. This happens about 3-5 times a month at the stores in my neighborhood. Again, when a company like PayPal retroactively flags a purchase as "suspicious" and causes the now fully automated credit and debit system of a bank to freeze a persons card. This can be a death sentence for someone whose utility bills, groceries and direct deposits are all tied into one account. An elderly person in the middle of a heatwave that loses access to basic sevices will be dead within a day without cash for bottled water. Also, in a cashless society, there is absolutely no way for anyone to provide for themselves in the event of a cyber attack that takes out cell towers. Without those, all digital purchases would be impossible and the people running the retails (dumbass college kids) would be at the mercy of angry mobs. The best way to burn down New York City is to turn off the phones. A society without a medium for person to person trade is just as fucked as a society where only it's rulers have guns. The right to defend one's self, the right to trade and the right to speak are all pretty important.
