Is there any movie that is better than the book it is based on? submitted by enotsr22 to AskVoat

Forrest Gump, maybe. I've started reading the book, and it's vastly different from how the movie ended up. A few of the same characters but it's a completely different story.

What's up, KIA. I thought you guys were kidding about Voat until this week. submitted by Boxworth to KotakuInAction

I fear it might happen in the years to come, but if even the greats like Reddit and 4chan can fall, then doesn't that mean at some point their successors Voat and 8chan will too? Let's hope not.

What is the point of this thread. Didn't the mods add a rule to stop soapboxing?

What? No. This is exactly why we're on Voat. We didn't bother fighting for our community, so we just jumped to the next one, and that's exactly what's happening now. Just because there's a problem, we can't just jump ship all of a sudden. We need to fight for our community this time, and refuse to let anyone push us around.

How do you feel about the mods adding the "no soap boxing" rule an hour or two ago? submitted by SuperConductiveRabbi to AskVoat

I like it. I come to AskVoat because I like to see people answer questions. Regardless of your ideology, I don't want to see people who just put a question mark at the end of their rant so they can ride it to the front page. It's tacky, and really professional.
