Websites know you're using ad-blockers, and they're coming for you submitted by basotl to technology

Moonbat 1 points 148 points (+149|-1) ago

What's most typical is for the content to be blocked if an ad-blocker is detected. I have utterly no problem with this whatsoever. They don't owe me any free journalism. At that point I can either choose to disable the ad blocker, pay up, or leave. I invariably leave.

I think this is heading to a place where the best sites can depend on direct payment to survive, and the ones who can't, die. Because I don't tolerate ads, ever. If it's good enough I'll pay, but I don't do ads. They're not just annoying; they're an affront to my intelligence, a parasite on my bandwidth, and I despise them all.

Am I the only one who thinks that gun control would be just about as noneffective as the war on drugs has been? submitted by Renoco to AskVoat

The point is that nobody cares. If gun control would make America safer, nobody cares.

It's an ideological thing. I'm with the 2nd amendment crowd. It's a freedom issue. Double, triple, quadruple the number of gun homicides in the country per year. I don't care. I want to live in the most free country in the world, and I'm utterly, perfectly willing to sacrifice a little safety in order for my country to stay that way.

Bernie goes full SJW: "America was founded on racist principles" submitted by BoiseNTheHood to politics

But the point is, in 2008 this country took a huge step forward in voting for a candidate based on his ideas and not the color of his skin.”

Riiiiiiight, Bernie. He got 90% of the black vote because of his terrific ideas. Mmm-hmm. /s

They are taking our jobs. They are taking our wealth…

He speaks as if those jobs and that wealth are things that we, as a nation, "own". In other words, he speaks like a liberal. Which he is.

Capitalism works, and The Donald doesn't believe in it, is what I'm taking away from this article.

He fucking deserves condescension, as do his supporters. And those workers in other countries are not better off having no jobs, than having pennies per hour.

edit: And I'm not doing this again with an economic ignoramus. Have the last word. I can't educate the whole world.
