[Serious] Why do some people think it is okay to scream at, curse at, refuse simple legal orders, given by a police officer? submitted by explorevoat to AskVoat

Completely agree. America is founded on the principle that you have rights. Cops are given the authority to perform their jobs and if you fuck up and violate that authority then, guess what, they're authorized within the law to subdue you or arrest you or whatever BUT the flip side of that is if they're telling you to do something that isn't within their rights to command you to do those cops can FUCK OFF. We've got rights too. Cops don't, and shouldn't, have unlimited power. There is no statute that would require you to put out a cigarette so it's well within your rights to not comply with that request.

Police kill more whites than blacks, yet black deaths generate more outrage. Analysis contradicts widespread views about racial targets submitted by TerriChris to news

According to Wikipedia 62% of the U.S. is white non-hispanic and 13.2% is black. That means there are almost 5 times as many white people as black in the U.S. but the article says blacks are killed almost as often as whites (30% vs 49%). Isn't that kind of proving the point that black people are disproportionately killed by cops..?

According to the article 100% of the 18-34 people polled either supported, were indifferent or opposed accepting the refugees. I refuse to believe not a single one of them said "The place from Aladdin??". And there's only 1% missing from the overall results. Did they just exclude those people from their results? That's not the right way to conduct a poll.

UN-EFFING-BELIEVABLE! Mizzou protesters are ANGRY Paris terror attacks stole their MEDIA SPOTLIGHT!!! submitted by Dexter111 to news

This is bunch of deleted tweets from stupid people, not news. Whether an idea or movement is supported by an idiot or not saying nothing about it's merit.

The whole point of this "article" seems to be find a few idiots that support Mizzou and act like they speak for everyone. None of these people speak for anyone but themselves.

You're changing the subject. We're not talking about the Mizzou president. How is this "article" front page news right now?

Because it's not news.
