Hey Voat Goats. Why are you here and what are you doing to make Voat the community you hoped reddit/digg/8chan/wherever would be? submitted by Mars_Hopper to AskVoat

I'm here because I followed a link from an r/politics thread about the censoring of NSA stories on r/news. I personally still love a lot of the communities on reddit that I am a part of, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to take part in a brand new community whose identity hasn't...

Now that we've broken away from the Empire and formed the Voater Alliance do we get a nickname? submitted by SovereignSnake to AskVoat

The shocking thing to me was the 59 articles that were published after they were notified of the violations. That is pretty shitty of the researchers to go ahead and publish after being discovered falsifying data.

If all we ever find is microbial life on Mars, would it be ethical to terraform it? submitted by Superking to AskVoat

Mars_Hopper 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Yes and no. I agree with your sentiment. There is an amazing opportunity to learn from an untouched world and fucking that up right off the bat would be unscientific. But, like you said, mankind will probably go extinct at some point and that is the incentive to bypass the initial learning...

Exactly this. We have a chance to learn a ton and begin the process of becoming a multi-planetary species. It is the beginning of a journey to spread out far and wide to preserve our race throughout all of time and to spread life where there is none. The best attempt to preserve native life should...
