I've always wanted to become familiar with and use Linux...I'm gonna make it a goal to try it out within the next few months.

Nothing wrong with dank memes at all. It just might be a good idea for someone to start v/politicalmemes or something. Sounds like most want to veer toward sharing information and having discussions.

I don't deny that there can and have been some good conversations which have been sparked by memes, I just said I don't see many; this is my personal observation, though I could be wrong. So no, I don't think they cause cause poor discussions (if that's how I understand you read it), I just think web articles and/or expressing ones views thoroughly would make for better conversations. Again, IMO.
