To see if they're always an asshole to people or if it's just when they reply to me. ^~^

Proposed censorship rules are antithetical to the ideals of Voat submitted by voltagegate to science

MamaFrankie 5 points 33 points (+38|-5) ago

I like this idea - it appeals to the complexity theory in my brain. what if we allowed spore-verses, curated subverses who are still connected (through something like the /v/science curated network, like the imaginary art network) to the primary, huge subverse (which can stay it's usually bubbling pit of social chaos)? Or, as another idea, what if a curator user (someone who wants to hand pick certain topics or help in selecting content to filter out certain things) can publish their selections inside certain subverses? So some curator could pick through all the roil and boil of /v/science and then publish a curated feed that could also be followed along with (though possibly in lieu of) /v/science.

just brain storming here. I usually don't follow this kind of stuff, but your comment got me thinking. thanks for that! :)

Can we call moderators Sheppards or something goat related? submitted by Penguinkeith to AskVoat

MamaFrankie 2 points 31 points (+33|-2) ago

Shepards tell goats how to live their lives too much. We don't need to be micro-managed. We need guardians: big, sweet, lazy, bear-fighting guard dogs. They shouldn't care what we do individually. They only care about the protection of the herd from external predators.

For the purposes of full disclosure, I have a Pyr and am totally biased. Voat, I present Commodore Oso Von Woofbang!

I keep hearing about that free college... submitted by TerriChris to politics

MamaFrankie 2 points -2 points (+0|-2) ago

No, no, no... It's because it's so useful it won't be free. Even with free college, a liberal arts degree is so economically worthless we can give it away to occupy people and keep them out of the workforce for a while. People with trade skills will actually be employeed.

Norwegian violent rape has gone up infinity percent since muslim immigration submitted by voltagegate to politics

MamaFrankie 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

From source:

Recent police statistics showed that in the capital city of Oslo, 100 percent of assault rapes ...

"Recent police statistics" is not the same data set as a "comprehensive police statistics". There is no reason to assume that rape never happened before the mass immigration. So your claim that

Thus, violent rape is a purely novel phenomena of immigration in Norway.

is unsubstantiated. A quick trip to Wikipedia [1] shows that 9.4 % of women and 1.1% of men had been raped, according to a Feb. 2014 report. The migrant crisis is not considered to have started until 2015, but even still in a 2010 report the incidence of rape was 35 in 100,000. Low, but not enough to justify a never-before-used analytical application of division by zero.

Also, the definition of 1/0 = infinity only holds in the field of complex numbers (see the section on the Riemann Sphere here), which are largely omitted from statistical analysis, unless this problem is suddenly in the realm of quantum mechanics. In the real numbers, 1/0 is undefined.

[POLL] - Voat, do you believe in any sort of god or deity? submitted by nanamicaboi to AskVoat

Nerp. But I believe in human compassion, a faith that gets tested, like, erry day.
