I missed my dose of metroprolol this morning. The instructions say "if you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose". What's "almost"?, submitted: 10/6/2015 5:16:48 AM, -3 points (+1|-4)

I am a male survivor of an abusive spouse. I can't tell you how scary these situations are. I don't care if you're a Ranger, a Navy SEAL, or a bodybuilder or any other of the variety of exceptionally strong men; an abusive partnership will bring you low and make you fear for your life. And there are virtually no resources for men. Men are even considered the perpetrators when they're the abuse victims! My abuser attacked me with a kitchen knife and cut my arm open - I had to get 10 stitches and have a permanent scar + loss of sensation from it. After she cut me, I threw her to the ground in self-defense, and ran outside. The neighbors called an ambulance because I was bleeding so bad. The police showed up - and I was arrested and driven to the hospital in handcuffs. As I was being loaded into the ambulance the police asked my abuser if she wanted a restraining order, and if I had hit her in the past. She told them "yes, he has hit me frequently" - I never touched her. But in the US legal system, a woman's word is the absolutely unquestionable truth. The police released me after the attending nurse spoke to them thankfully, and I didn't go to jail, but I had to have an hour long conversation with a social worker about "my anger issues".

45% of domestic abusive victims are men. 70% of unilateral abuse victims are men. Men make up the majority of spousal murder victims and are more likely to be injured and hospitalized from attacks with weapons. And there are no resources for men. This is one of the biggest issues facing our society and there's virtually nothing being said about it.

It took me 5 years to resolve my post-trauma stress issues.

On Reddit, being opposed to immigration is literally the same thing as saying "all Jews should be lined up and shot" submitted by SpicyChickenJ to MeanwhileOnReddit

It's because you have a very good point, but it's easier for them to be... reactionary... and shout names at you than to deal with the uncomfortable cognitive dissonance you're causing.

Voaters before the exodus of fatpeoplehate and coontown, are you satisfied on how Voat turned out? submitted by destinthegreat to AskVoat

I'm more of a "middle of the road", libertarian type of dude. I have fairly liberal views myself. However, when liberals start talking about "white privilege", "toxic masculinity", "microaggresion", etcetc - they lose me completely. They've crossed the threshold from doing social good into social engineering, blaming, and hostility.

I think Voat is great. I can post unfavorable opinions and it's fine. No bans, very few downvotes, sometimes insightful comments - much better than the reddit radlib echo chamber.

I just wish there were more users and more apolitical subs.

You were so close, but then you fell right off the cliff of over-simplification to the point of absurdity. :(

But you're right. It's all "personal responsibility". Populations all over the world, within 1-2 generations, are become majority overweight overnight and simultaneously. It's all personal responsibility. Nothing environmental, no, people just became fat and lazy the world over in the blink of an eye.

You guys are so cute. Please, never change. :) <3

Also, I don't hate fat kids because they have no choice in what they eat

So you acknowledge that there are circumstances where a personal has no control over their weight.

Good, good. Progress has been made.

Hey this makes a lot of sense! It's like within 1-2 generations the majority of people in the entire western world and parts of Asia and the Middle East just became selfish, gluttonous lazy people with no self control. Practically overnight. All over the world. Simultaneously.
