There's a reason Voat had a post on their splash outage page about VC's coming forward. The cash follows the user base. At the very least Pao allowed competition to spring up when all they had to do was not screw up to keep their lead. But their communication locations (through media outside of Reddit) and style (as said, corporate buzzwords with no real information) show they're not involved with the community.
