Does anybody else want Voat to remain small? submitted by TheodoreKent to AskVoat

NO. I still find myself dropping by reddit from time to time because content and comments get stale much quicker over here. The more voices we have over here the better.

It adds more work and effort to small content creators. Plus it opens the door for the government to raise the cost of registering things to make it so only larger companies can do it.

Windows 10 "Privacy" Feature Is Effectively Outing Young Kids To Their Parents submitted by Mixplate to technology

La_Pistola 4 points -4 points (+0|-4) ago

You can guess away. But my parents did this, and I don't have trust issues. Just because I want to know everything they are doing on the net does not mean I don't show trust in other areas. The way I look at it is that letting my kid run loose on the internet is like letting them play in traffic. Its way too dangerous.

Ohio journalist is nearly shot after security tried to unlawfully seize his legal recording device. No Ohio news stations are reporting on this submitted by OhBlindOne to news

The old guy started it. The "Cop" was doing his job. He could have done it better, but the Cop did not start that fight. The Old guy with the camera started swinging at an armed security guard. What did he think was going to happen?

These comments are all based on this short clip. We need more info to really know what was going on.

We don't know if it was a crime. Courthouses and government buildings have the ability to restrict recording devices inside its walls. It may well have been illegal. Regardless, in that room they make the rules. If you don't like it, there are other options for fighting them. Physical violence is going to be met with an escalated version of the same. And when the person you are attacking has a gun, bad shit happens.
