They look through the contents of your email and private folders
No, they don't. They did in the test build of Win10 released in October, not in the actual commercial release version. The "This is 1984" infographic that /v/pics jerked over was... fake. Or at least, misleading - the screenshots and ULA texts were, again, from the Tech Build, not the actual release.
In reality, the data skimmed by Cortana is, effectively, not different than that you already give to Microsoft just by using Bing or any of their other services - or Google, for that matter. Yes, your search history is saved - that's how predictive searches and customized content work. Yes, your contacts are saved - that's how cloud contacts work. No, the content of your email and files are not saved (at least, not in the NSA way; they are saved if you're using cloud storage but that's kinda the point).
You're not crazy or a reactionary luddite - you're just a bit high on the hype train. Step back, take a few breaths, and then come back and evaluate for yourself before buying in to the "DAE MS 1984" jerk.
EDIT: Since it keeps coming up, this clause:
We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to protect our customers or enforce the terms governing the use of the services
Only sounds scary because it's being taken entirely out of context. If you actually read the privacy agreement, in the previous paragraph it clarifies:
We share your personal data with your consent or as necessary to complete any transaction or provide any service you have requested or authorized. For example, we share your content with third parties when you tell us to do so, such as when you send an email to a friend, share photos and documents on OneDrive, or link accounts with another service.
So, newsflash: if you store kiddie porn on the Onedrive cloud storage, Microsoft can and will keep a record of that for the criminal investigation. If you send ISIS recruitment email through your Microsoft account email, that's gonna trip a couple flags. This is nothing new - Dropbox, Google Drive, Megaupload all have similar clauses in their Privacy Statements. At a baseline legal standpoint, the clause is there to say "We will detect and respond if you use your servers for illegal shit."
This does not mean that Microsoft is skimming any email you open on your PC, nor is it copying the shitty poetry you have saved in My Documents, because those are not being used with Microsoft services - not even when you have all of the other data-tracking options turned on.

Oh, fuck off. You're the reason the silent majority supports she implicitly: she's not the one shitposting left and right. It'd be a lot easier for the rest of us who want to resolve the problem if not for you jackasses acting like toddlers.

While I'm no advocate of gun control, this is a fairly misleading statistic in that it's... well, irrelevant. Saying that a small percentage of guns are used in murders is like saying that a small percentage of humans, compared to the total human population, is murdered. A small percentage doesn't negate the fact that bad things are being done, just that you have a friggin' huge representative population. For example, the number of M60 Patton tanks used to rampage down the interstate in a spree of destruction and mayhem is .0003% (Shawn Nelson, 1995). However, that percentage is only low because a lot of M6 Pattons were built. The small percentage doesn't negate the severity of crimes committed with that small percentage - which means you won't see civilian-legal battle tanks anytime soon.
Alternatively, the number of people killed by police in America as a percentage of all deaths is .004% (2014). That's a tiny fraction of a fraction (you're more likely to die of a kidney infection), but that doesn't make it any less of a horrific issue.

the difference between loli and real CP
Because there is no fucking legal difference. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, legally it is child porn and cannot be hosted on Voat's servers (only a few countries don't consider fictional depiction to be CP, Japan being foremost).
Jesus Christ, I swear the "LOLI ISN'T CP REEEEEEE" argument does nothing but make me want to find loli to report out of fucking spite!

Her comment history indicates that she might be opposed to the core values of voat and the AskVoat community
- What are the "core values" of voat you're citing?
- What are the "core values" of AskVoat you're citing?
What, exactly, about her comment history do you find objection with? Looking through it out to five pages, I find nothing out of the ordinary for what should be considered a healthy level of cynicism. So she thinks FPH is a disgusting community? So what, so do a lot of users, including myself - however, I don't see her advocating its removal or censoring anywhere, or removal of any subverse for that matter. So she thinks that rules should be applied to AskVoat? What's wrong with wanting to maintain a bare minimum level of quality, such as "questions to AskVoat must actually be questions" and "Don't advocate suicide?"

...predictions which are inherently based on data which, while politically incorrect, is better than the alternatives of increasing security measures for everyone to the point of making air travel unusable or trying to be reactive.
