Does it make me a hypocrite to be against censorship but also think it is ridiculous that /v/jailbait is here? submitted by Steeledl to AskVoat

No, it doesn't make you a hypocrite. It makes you a person with morals. Morality is complex. The multitude of morals that we hold often collide and oppose each other. Your current feelings are a result of the intersection of two different morals that you hold. I have the same moral dilemma as you do, I am against the idea of jailbait forums and against the idea of censorship. I justify my participation on boards like voat, reddit, and the chans by realizing that I am only responsible for my own morality, not anyone elses. I can't make decisions regarding what other people can and can not view because I don't believe that other people should decide what I should and shouldn't be able to view. Morally, we can only enforce moral decisions on ourselves, that does not mean that by not forcing our moral views on others that we agree with the moral choices that they make, just that we agree that their morality is their option. (wow, reading that back it's quite convoluted - I hope I made something resembling a point =)

This is not news and you have provided no link to what you are talking about.

No more mods; or, rotating panel of mods site wide so no single person can have power for too long and become corrupt. submitted by deleted to ideasforvoat

Why don't you explain what your opinion is, why it would work better, and why you don't think that the current solution to the problem (people leaving to start their own subverse with the moderation that they would prefer) is not a good solution?
