What drinking (((Coke))) does to your system submitted by ComedicGoat to whatever

This infographic is hyperbolic to the point of bias and outright lying at times. It reminds me a lot of the stuff New York was pushing when they wanted to pass the soda tax. Now, I'm not advocating drinking any kind of sugar water, especially on a regular basis. My take on it has always been to look at sodas the same way you would a dessert dish and consume accordingly.

1) A can of coke doesn't have 10 tsps of sugar. Also, eating 10 tsps of sugar is highly unlikely to make you vomit. Try it. You can probably eat it all at once even.

2) Of course consuming sugar makes your blood sugar increase. Your body is designed to process sugar.

3) It is coke, not methamphetamine. I would love to know this guy's take on coffee.

4) So coke is heroin. Every pleasurable activity uses the dopamine reward system. That is why it is pleasurable.

5) Honestly not sure about this, but I think the implication is that drinking soda will make you malnourished, which is silly

6) Did the author forget human beings have kidneys, or what their function in the human body is?

7) You will not "crash" from a can of coke based on the sugar content, assuming you don't have some sort of metabolic disease. The author is overstating the diuretic properties of caffeine as well. The water content in soda far outweighs any diuretic effect caffeine would have on your body. This is an old, old myth. You will not die of thirst if all you drink is soda.

Again, I'm not saying go out and guzzle down a bunch of sugar water, but I also wouldn't go around quoting any of the information on this graphic either. At worst, I would consider it to be gray propaganda.

Last month, Tell MAMA said that there appeared to be a pattern of a spike in Islamophobic incidents following attacks in Britain and abroad.

I wonder if islamic terrorism and anti-islamic sentiment are in some way linked...

No. It must be racism.

It's pretty simple stuff. I hate how the whole "Jews are the chosen people" shit keeps getting propagated.

There were Jews. Then Jesus was born. Jesus is the Christ. As such, all Jews are now supposed to be Christian.

CHRISTIANS are the chosen people. Modern jews are heretics at best, apostates at worst.

Yes, because believing in supernatural shit is only retarded when people don't believe your supernatural shit.

I'm not saying Christianity hasn't had a generally positive impact on the world, but come on. You're seriously arguing about which invisible, omniscient, omnipotent being is the "true" one.
