In light of GitHub's recently-announced anti-straight-white-male Code of Conduct, I'd like to reiterate some alternatives to them. submitted by frankenmine to programming

Although there a re a lot of problems with github's censorship philosophy, that only help isolate and separate communities of people instead of having them work together, this is no justification to start defaming minorities. This has nothing to do with their competence or skill as developers, and is a purely moral/ethical quandary in regards to group isolationism an reactionary inconsideration. Let's not respond to these silly reactions by said "action takers" by being exactly what they're saying we are.

Live how you want to live, fuck who you want to fuck (as long as you aren't hurting anyone, or being straight up illegal), nothing matter anyways. Life is a lot better like this.

Really? So they aren't allowed to not agree with how their country is governed and should follow the rules mandated to them blindly?

Okay Stalin.

This is not true. First of all - over 50% of the refugees are displaced children - source 1source 2, also 47% percent of refugees are women - The demographics of Syria's refugees have changed slightly since we last reported on this in March 2013. Then, 52% of refugees were women. Now, that proportion has declined to 47.5%..

Which begs the question....how many of these women and children are terrorist infiltrators? The racism in this post is too goddamn high....

What if you don't agree with either? What if you are the sole protector of your family? What if you just want to keep them safe and you know you can't do that staying in Syria, and you ESPECIALLY can't do that going off to war to leave them vulnerable and without a money and food source.
