Bullshit. A bot would just run a check once an hour on its profile (using, and see if it gets a page full of comments, or the giant picture. Code makes shadowbans not work. It's annoying for humans because, who the hell checks their profile? And that's the only way you can tell for sure.

Why is our banner an American Flag? submitted by erietemperance to Libertarian

Hewitt 0 points 13 points (+13|-0) ago

I am so sorry. For some reason, while coming up with a header for this sub, I was so centered on what I normally see from fellow Libertarians:patriotism. I failed to remember that the vast majority of this world is not, to my surprise, American. For that, I apologize profusely. I am so very sorry for this mix up, and have removed the banner while I work on another, less narrow-visioned, header image.

This was my mistake, and I was the one to put that banner up there. I want to make sure we're all equally represented, and that crazy American politics isn't dominating yet another forum. That in mind, are there any suggestions?

EDIT: How about we switch to this look?

Regarding questionable content submitted by Atko to announcements

Hewitt 1 points 5 points (+6|-1) ago

It's not the child porn that people are defending (at least, not the reasonable people), as that's illegal everywhere, and should be. Good on him for removing /v/truejailbait. That being said, /v/thefappening is a ridiculous ban. What, you're worried it's illegal, so is /v/trees, or /v/drugs. Why don't we remove those? Oh wait, that's right, because it's not illegal enough. It's not looked downupon by the majority. This is a disgusting decision, and I can't believe it only took two weeks to go from wanting to find a new home from reddit, to wanting to go back to reddit.

Say what you will about the content of it, and it's not like I'm subscribed there, or have even ever visited /v/thefappening, but come on. This is censorship, and everyone knows it is. It's not about there being possibly "illegal content," or other subverses would be banned.

Being Just 2 Points Away From Being Able to Downvoat submitted by Hewitt to funny

I'm just excited because it feels like I'm turning 21. Not that I'll want to go get drunk every night, I mean... downvoat everything in sight, but to know that I can is still fun.
