This is Aaron's story. Please watch.

This kid was changing the world. He wasn't just any techie kid. He was literally designing a new future for us all and he didn't agree with society as it currently is.

The government works hardest to control how we think about things. They killed this poor kid before he was able to even reach his full potential.

If we were to discover life on another planet today, what would we do or how would we handle it? submitted by AlexandraReese to AskVoat

Yes! Boycott the mansplainers! /s

I'm just saying that not only will switching to Linux prove 100% ineffective in changing the direction of our privacy, but it emotionally distracts from the real problem.

It's nothing more than an emotional red herring that will pacify people into thinking they have any control over their situation.

The revolutionary action we need is Bernie Sanders in office and money out of politics. Switching your OS has absolutely nothing to do with that (and ignores the fact that everyone is still carrying spying devices much worse than their gd desktop computer is trying to be.)

We're all carrying around devices that listen to/watch/record or every move. Microsoft comes along four years too late and says "I wanna try that" and we're like "oh no sir, only Google/Facebook/Apple/Dropbox/every ad network/blog website on the net can spy on me! But not you!" As though we're mounting some privacy revolution.

It's fucking silly.

Switching OSes will curb government invasion of privacy the way throwing one dentist in jail will stop Zimbabwe from selling illegal hunts. It won't in the slightest, beyond giving people on the internet something emotional to attach to, group around, and vent about.
