Voat financial status submitted by Atko to announcements

@Atko ...Maybe think about getting someone to implement a tipping system so users could tip other users for comments, posts, contributions, etc. and Voat.co would get a % of each tip.

Federal judge: Drinking tea, shopping at a gardening store is probable cause for a SWAT raid on your home submitted by FreeSpeachRocks to news

FriedFood100 0 points 102 points (+102|-0) ago

Last week, U.S. District Court Judge John W. Lungstrum dismissed every one of the Hartes’s claims. Harte found that sending a SWAT team into a home first thing in the morning based on no more than a positive field test and spotting a suspect at a gardening store was not a violation of the Fourth Amendment. He found that the police had probable cause for the search, and that the way the search was conducted did not constitute excessive force. He found that the Hartes had not been defamed by the raid or by the publicity surrounding it. He also ruled that the police were under no obligation to know that drug testing field kits are inaccurate, nor were they obligated to wait for the more accurate lab tests before conducting the SWAT raid.

That judge should be impeached ASAP

Dad gets beaten hard by his ex-MMA fighter girlfriend over having a friend over too late. Now they're in a custody battle for their daughter. submitted by skymod to MensRights

This is just one person's account of the situation. You can't really make judgement based on this.

Teacher gets pregnant by 13 year old student. Media calls it being "romantically involved". submitted by skymod to MensRights

Way to cheapen the word "rape"......Might you be thinking of "statutory rape?"

Teacher repeatedly rapes 15 yo boy. Cops charge her with "sexual activity." No surprise that criminal statistic are under represented for women submitted by TerriChris to MensRights

It doesn't really matter if the 15 year old boy was into the sex or not.

It actually does matter, because if a 15 year old boy was not into it and was threatened or forced against their will, then that would be actual rape not "statutory rape" and the charges would be much harsher, as they should.

If a 15 year old girl has sex with a male teacher, then it is highly scrutinized and the male teacher faces harsh penalties (including more serious jail time than 8-16 mths).

That's because in general it's much more risky for young females to be in these type of relationships.

This is regardless of whether the girl enjoyed having an older man "hump away at her vagina."

Well the willingness of the individual should always factor in. It sure wouldn't be the same as she wasn't enjoying it and felt pressured to be in the situation.

The fact is that the frontal lobes of an adolescent human are not fully developed until well into the 20's. The developed frontal lobes of an adult make judgements, planning, and assessing risks, an essential part of what differentiates maturity from immaturity. For you that can't comprehend the latter, this makes adult sex with a teenager WRONG.

So by that, do you think people shouldn't be able to legally consent until "well into the 20's?" What exact age should be considered an adult? Should all those 25 year olds that have/had sex with 19 year olds be locked away and do you think they were morally wrong for doing so? What about a 19 year old that murders a family, should they be tried as an adult, or maybe not be tried at all?
