Bernie Sanders urges raw vote count release from Iowa caucus after virtual tie with Clinton submitted by penisse to politics

You know, I'm no fan of Bernie, but this smells fishy to me. Looks like the Clintons have, once again, bought the paved path to the White House.

German town reopens pool to asylum seekers after gender education drive submitted by SoaringChickenNugget to news

FlapjackWindChimes 0 points 46 points (+46|-0) ago

I'm sure a few days of gender equality training will be enough to undo years of religious brainwashing, said no rational human being, ever.

Candidate Sanders says U.S. Fed 'hijacked' by bankers submitted by ideasware to politics

FlapjackWindChimes 0 points 16 points (+16|-0) ago

He said banking executives should be barred from serving on the boards of the Fed's regional banks and board members should be nominated by the president and chosen by the Senate.

Sounds like a bulletproof plan right there. That should eliminate any possibility for corruption. /s

So here you have someone who's trying to lose weight, and she still gets hate because she isn't losing it fast enough? Not trying to rain on your circle jerk, I honestly just don't understand the hate for someone who's making an attempt to live healthier.

Nobody is saying she deserves a participation award, but everyone starts somewhere, no?

Vaccines save up to 44 dollars to the dollar submitted by cynoclast to science

FlapjackWindChimes 2 points -2 points (+0|-2) ago

This sounds a bit like the mentality of a shopaholic. "But I can save money if I buy it when it's on sale!" Or you could just not spend money at all and save even more! I get what they're saying though. Overall costs to treat a disease vs preventing it in the first place - makes sense. That is, if the vaccine's effectiveness is anywhere near what the drug manufacturer is claiming. They were caught lying about efficacy rates of certain vaccinations last year (and I believe were sued for this as well) so... take it with a grain of salt.
