Yes, it was/is. War is not play time, and an instuctor's job is to take a bunch of mostly coddled kids and get them ready for the real world of combat, kill or be killed. The enemy isn't going to give you a "time out" when things get tough. If you can't handle being yelled at, you sure as hell aren't going to handle being shelled after 3 days with no sleep, and nothing but a cold ration bar to eat since last night. A big part of the yelling and mind games is to keep you under stress, and train you to think clearly and get the job done no matter what is going on around you, as well as instill discipline and harden you up both physically and mentally. It also weeds out those who just aren't cut out for it, so they don't break in combat and get themselves and their squadmates killed. The old motto was "train hard, so combat comes easy" I worry about the new "kinder, gentler" basic training sending kids out to be slaughtered.

The U.S. military's stats on deadly airstrikes are wrong. Thousands have gone unreported submitted by leahbettsisdead to news

Bullshit. Don't file your AAR (After Action Report) at the end of a mission and see how fast your ass is in the sling with the old man. It is tracked, down to the last round. Sometimes tracked too much, making soldiers waste time with a bunch of paperwork instead of kicking our enemies asses like they should be doing. What they are not doing is catering to the libtard journalists, who are whining because they can't use the info to propagandize and help our enemies. Since when does the military answer to those guys? They answer to Congress and the President, not some whiny-assed sniveling liberal arts major.
