England: Male student describe receiving an invite to the sexual consent workshop as "incredibly hurtful." "I dont have to be taught to not be a rapist" submitted by TerriChris to news

It seems to me that they are trying to make it where people assume a man is naturally geared to be a rapist. Even more division among us. Gotta hand it to the government though, it's very strategic to divide the people in order to control them.

The current state of Voat submitted by PM_ME_YOUR_ARCHES to whatever

This is a change that everyone has to make. I realize that most folk think their single voice isn't very loud, but when someone makes a high pitched voice when everyone else is making a low pitch noise, people notice. We are all going to have different opinions, and that's not going to change. However, we should recognize that we have the right to post what we want, as long as we don't violate the rules of Voat. I personally lean right, but instead of "getting back at the left" I must break free of that mindset and realize America is controlled by a private bank, we are 18 trillion in debt, the TPP is now in effect, and freedoms are being taken away. It's not easy, and I've even made mistakes on Voat with getting into the circlejerk mindset. But it is wrong, and I'm going to try my hardest to fix my problem.

We have to unify, and stop the government from taking away our rights. Sure we may have different opinions, but let's stop fighting over opinion, and focus on restoring the Constitution as the law of the land. Even if you aren't an American, you still have the responsibility of unifying with your people to stop your government from becoming tyrannical. Let's stop bickering over left-right arguments, and recognize we have the right to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Let's support freedom of speech, and the rest of the amendments of the Constitution, and solve big problems such as the Federal Reserve, and Internet censorship first. United we stand, divided we fall.

Should people be required to pass an IQ test in order to receive a driver's license? submitted by Dr_Andonuts to AskVoat

Do you believe the Earth is flat? Yes, or no? What's 150+54? Do you know the difference between gasoline, and water?

(edit) Basic stuff. Just making sure people at least have competency past 3rd grade.

That preteens sub is very disturbing. Why does it exist? submitted by pickledbeerninja to AskVoat

I'm for free speech and all, but when it comes to kids... I'm sorry but we need to have some sort of line to draw in the sand. Sure it's not "illegal" but this sure ain't going to set a positive reputation for us. Pedophiles (Call them what you want) don't belong here. If kids are your "thing" or you are "fascinated" with them, that goes too far in my book. As a community, we need to raise our voice and tell these sorts of folk that they aren't welcome in our community. If they want to start up their own website, and rest on the legal/illegal border, then that's their game.

Based on my understanding of history, every civilization has done this at some point. If someone starts shouting in the streets that people should sacrifice their children to Satan, then it's the responsibility of the community to throw that person out the city gates. They can practice their free speech... from another town. Well I think that's what we need to do here. I for one, as a member of our community don't want travelers coming by, seeing pedophiles on the streets, leaving, and spreading word about it.

The preteens sub needs to go, and anything else that involves kids in this way. This isn't about being uncomfortable. Kids are off limits.

Toddler died from meningitis after anti-vaxx parents treated him with maple syrup instead of medicine submitted by Professor_de_la_Paz to news

Doesn't sound like vaccinations had anything to do with this. They simply didn't call 9-1-1. I was sicker than a dog as a kid. If my parents called 9-1-1 every time I had an issue, they'd never be able to pay the bills. I think my parents only called the paramedics once, and that was actually a legit time to call because an infection had settled in my lungs and I couldn't breath.

I'll also state for the record that my system was rejecting anti-biotics and other conventional treatment. So my parents tried alternative medicine, and my health improved. Point is, every kid is different. Government should never force parents to vaccinate, and should never force them to use alternative medicine. It's up to the parents, not the government.

These parents made a bad case of judgment. I'm sure they aren't red eyed demon soul suckers. They did what they thought was best, and now they are going to get hammered by the media for being "right wing extremists that probably have connections to the KKK."
