We've turned into the 4chan version of reddit. I have enjoyed some very meaningful and deep discussions with many voaters, but I agree with OP: post titles are wildly exaggerated and often clickbait. Many of the article are from naturalnews, msnbc, and right-wing sites that have no verifiable content.
I don't think that being invite only would have helped. A lot of good and bad people moved over from the censorship, but the good people have been pushed out by the toxic environment that some of the right-wingers have created. What should have happened is that we should have encouraged more redditors to come over and drown out the stormfront people.

Between the earlier 19th century and 90's, it was an egalitarian movement. Back then, men were still dominant, and they had the right to ensure that they have the same rights. It was the advent of the internet that allowed fascists to spread their bullshit under the guise of "equality." Now that they have nothing real to fight over, they make up stuff like #killallmen because they're bored and people aren't listening to them anymore.
