What did they used to call electric eels before electricity was invented? submitted by Reverse-Flash to AskVoat

Caveman_in_a_suit 0 points 45 points (+45|-0) ago

It was discovered & named after electricity was discovered: https://www.quora.com/What-did-they-call-the-electric-eel-before-electricity-was-invented

In reading that article, I discovered the torpedo is named for a fish - and that there was an electric catfish in the ancient Nile that was named the "angry catfish" because they didn't have a word for electricity but did find out the damn thing caused pain when handled.

I imagine he's some super autie kid in a basement, thick glasses, no shirt, and a red cape. Serious conspiracy theorist mutter, shake their heads, and go back to digging through PACER filings, IRS charity tax records, and WikiLeaks databases gleaning bits of corruption flotsam and jetsam from the edges of the corrupt Clinton Foundation, the true heart of the beast. Honestly though, I think Q is a diversionary psyop, controlled opposition to dilute and throw off the efforts of Anons. "These people are stupid" - a few, but not most.

The reason why Google and other tech companies want Net Neutrality? Massive government subsidies submitted by Flour to technology

Thanks - this article changed my mind. I've been opposed to removing net neutrality for specific privacy concerns. I see now those concerns were grossly misplaced!
