Just a quick comparison of the 7" shorts from three different brands that I happened to have around. Included are the J. Crew Stanton in 29" waist, A&F Preppy Fit in 30" waist, and GAP Kennedy in 30" waist. As you can tell the GAP shorts have a slightly larger opening than the other two but hardly noticeable. The inseams vary but all three have the same outseam of 16". That's taken from the top of the shorts to the very bottom of a leg along the outside edge. Warning: The GAP 30" shorts fit more like a 31 or maybe even a 32. The waist is ridiculously vanity sized. I'm going to toss them in a warm wash and dry to see if they'll shrink down to something reasonable. Feel free to add any pics or measurements you may have taken for comparison sake. EDIT: J. Crew and A&F fit TTS. GAP are vanity sized.
