Noam Chomsky: People Who Didn't Vote For Clinton To Block Trump Made A Bad Mistake submitted by jinnibug to news

21 minutes, 25 upvotes, 6 downvotes, keeping up with the 4:1 downvote ratio from the other posts in a post from an outlet that's never posted here with a retard like /u/ peerty (with his account that's also less than 2 days old) calling someone a nazi and getting positive upovtes for something that earn universal downvotes here.
Yeah, another spam post full of blatant vote manipulation @cynabuns.

Even Buddists are rising up submitted by suckcoke to pics

Buddhists in South and South-East Asia, as well as Sikhs and Hindus, know Islam very well.

They've been fighting against Islam for close to 9 centuries, know it's an existential threat to them since Islam doesn't even have a second-class people status for them like it has for the Jews and Christians (did you know that the Mughal emperor Alzaghreb killed 4.6 million people during his expansionist wars in India?) and opposition to Islam is one significant aspect that shaped their cultures and identities in the recent past.

The India-Pakistani conflict comes from the historical persecution of Buddhists and Hindus during Muslim rule; Buddhists people in Mianmar are constantly attacked by Muslims and clashes between the monks and Muslims are not that uncommon and would be far more common if it wasn't for the military's rule; Thailand has a Muslim Guerilla in the south trying to overthrow the government and they constantly attack Buddhist people for being infidels; China had Muslims killing Buddhists as recently as 1930's and if it wasn't for the Brutal communist rule East China would be another war-plagued Muslim-majority territory - the government constantly monitors and raids the Xinjiang region to crack down on Islamist who have called publicly for the killing of Chinese Buddhists in 2014; Al-Qaeda and ISIS are active in SEA, using Indonesia as a base to launch attacks to other countries (and trying to take over Indonesia for themselves too); the Philippines struggles with two organizations called the Moro [Islamic/National] Liberation Front, one which is a Islamic terrorist group and the other with is also a Islamic terrorist group but dressed as a political entity trying to Trojan-horse the way into power and Muslims have been a major source of civil unrest ever since the independence.

In all, only the West is in denial over the dangers of Islam.

This is happening in pretty much all areas.

There was an article not long ago about how bosses don't bring women to confidential meetings (because they'd have to be alone with a woman behind closed doors), take them for out-of-office activities (like dinners, play golf, etc.) or not even let female staff drive them to places in fear of being accused of sexual harassment and have their careers destroyed by such accusations.

The consequence of that is that they don't get the mentoring and experience that would help them and bosses don't know them well enough to consider them for positions that require trust - hampering their career advancement.

They killed the Mad Men culture and created the Paranoid Men culture in an amazing case of backfire.

Edit: spelling mistakes.

The Kurds mock ISIS in a new hilarious music videohow can you not love the Kurds submitted by Mattvision to videos

BlackLabel 2 points -1 points (+1|-2) ago

how can you not love the Kurds

Simply. by knowing about the many acts of terrorism promoted by the PKK. The Kurds are not heroes, there's just a good part of them that are secularists so amid religious fanatics they seem sane until you remember their history. Not saying that the Turks are heroes either, but this stuff is grayer than it seems.

That said, yeah, the video is funny.

Anglican Church Risks Global Schism over Homosexuality submitted by kentuckykidder to religion

BlackLabel 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

Actually, the New Testament says nothing about homosexuality

Actually, yes, it does:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. -- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. -- 1 Timothy 1:8-11

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. -- Hebrews 13:4

Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. -- Romans 1:22-32

Jesus certainly didn't say anything about it

Yet he warned against sexual immorality:

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. -- Mark 7:20-22

Jesus have may abolished the death penalty for sin (Mary Magdalene), and sin for external things (eating pork, wearing two different fabrics, etc.) but He didn't made sin that comes from the heart and mind to stop being sin - for that the old law is valid and while the punishment is not human it's to be handed in the spiritual plane (and if Revelations 21:8 is to be followed, it's to burn in hell). That's why Jesus gives forgiveness but invites Christians to strive to "Sin no more" (John 8:11).

Bernie Sanders Vows to Dismantle Democrats Superdelegate System submitted by Bigz_Sarducci to politics

BlackLabel 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

Bernie is not a Democrat, he is an outsider with some common sympathies that only joined the party recently to run for president with the promise that he would run as Dem in future elections. He'll be seen as a traitor for not getting out of the race while dividing the party, attacking the establishment (and, unlike Trump, losing) and causing all this attrition.

If the Dems lose in the general he and his sympathizers will be the most convenient scapegoat ever (and them being mostly white males will end up pushing the Dems further into identity politics with the demonization of that demographic) unless Sanders makes amends AND his supporters join rank and file (otherwise they'll also take the blame anyway).

If he ever decides to run as an independent this year his lifeline inside the Democratic Party will be completely gone.
