It's a tough question to answer. They don't really have a core function so some of their projects benefit men and some of them are women only. Undeniably they lean more toward helping female victims than male victims but there are incidental benefits to male victims. Personally, I don't have a problem with that. I don't object to giving money to a charity that helps one group of people on the grounds that they don't help another group. I do understand that some of you do have that objection though. I don't have a problem with that and I don't really want to derail the whole thing and turn it into an argument about feminism.

For those who don't like the particular charity, I'd urge you to find a DV charity whose views you do approve of. Here are a few for men:

I bet I could perform better than Ragen with zero training. I could get up off the couch on the morning of and come closer to finishing an iron man than she could after any amount of training.

I could do the bike leg on a BMX, the running leg in ladies high heels and the swimming leg wearing jeans and a sweater and I'd still perform better than Ragen.

As much as I don't think a parent should coddle their fat kids straight up shaming them is no good either. Shaming fatties is what we do because they don't take us seriously and shame is the only thing that might work. As a parent you're in a unique position to actually help your children make healthy changes (up to a certain age). If they've got fat then that reflects on you as a parent just as much as it does them as a person.

Mum and daughter in this are both pathetic. Daughter for being fat and mum for having a fat kid.

I'm 6'2" 200lbs in Australia and I almost always fill out an xxl. My favourite label don't even make dress shirts big enough to not choke my arms. If I go and buy from the big clothes section though the proportions are all wrong and it's like wearing a tent.

Why are people rewarding weight loss? submitted by JurassicLord to fatpeoplehate

It's better than punishing it like those whales who talk about how much hotter chicks were before they lost weight in the vain hope that those chicks will rejoin in them in the ranks of the obese. But yeah, wait until she's got a BMI < 25 and then reward her.
