EU lawmakers to strip Le Pen of immunity from possible prosecution for tweeting pictures of ISIS violence submitted by NeedleStack to politics

Lets be real for a second. They are trying to stop her from winning the upcoming election at any cost, because she will destroy the globalist plans for France if she does. I hope she wins, for France's sake.

Jordan Peterson is an awesome man, but he knows that answering that question would bring hell down on him, even if its completely true. It sucks, you could see him chew on it, but in the end he wasn't willing to take that bullet. Someday we will be able to speak the complete truth, someday.

Leftist Has A Mental Breakdown in Coffee Shop submitted by SkillYourself to videos

There is no way this is real. It can't be, not even leftists are this far gone. The end could have been in a movie. No way it was real.

But if it was, KeK.

How to terraform Mars submitted by foxite to space

AnotherRedditRefugee 3 points -3 points (+0|-3) ago

As much as I support space colonization and anything space related at all, Mars is a terrible planet for humans to waste time and effort on. Simple put, the combination of no magnetosphere, which will make it impossible to keep an atmosphere on the planet, and the low gravity will be untenable long term for humans as we are now.

It's far more likely that an AI revolution here on earth will wipe humans out and replace them with super-intelligent machines superior to us in every way. They would not require food, water, sleep, or oxygen. They'd care nothing for temperature, pressure, or gravity extremes, in addition to being near immune to the effects of radiation. This is all on top of being super-strong, and super-durable, with perfect memory and mind mindbogglingly fast calculation speed. They may be able to colonize mars; we however will not.

I love space and would LOVE to live there in any capacity, but our species just doesn't have the attributes needed to make our conquest of the stars viable. We should except that and leave space to our machine offspring.

Jeremy Clarkson attacked over transgender comments submitted by politicorelig to news

AnotherRedditRefugee 3 points -2 points (+1|-3) ago

I'm on the line about this issue. On the one hand if a person (even a kid) feels overwhelmingly that they shouldn't be the gender dictated by their external organ, fine, let them change that if that will make them happy. On the other hand it is starting to feel like society can shape literally ANYTHING about a person including beliefs, morality, sexual preference, assertiveness, and even a persons gender identity. I would never claim that every attribute about every person is a product of their society, but it would be unreasonable to believe society doesn't shape anything about us either. So in the case of people believing they are this or that gender, part of me wants them to be who they feel they are, and the other is concerned that society is at least partly creating this urge. How exactly this is happening would only be speculation at this point, but at the least it does seem that this gender identity issue is a fairly new occurrence.

I'm sorry but this is pure bullshit. Fuck you Elon Musk. What have you programmed in a decade? submitted by Gowdy to whatever

I don't understand the hate on this issue. Musk thinks that humans mostly likely wont be able to control the AI super-intelligence that we are inevitably going to produce. He is right. Every factor needed to create intelligent AI is already present in our society. Most importantly is economics: corporations want to maximize profits by outsourcing human labor to machines, that means more and smarter AI will be produced, period. Second, every government in the world will want AI controlled military units. It will be a kind of AI arms race; Whoever has the best AI will have a huge advantage both strategically (think AI generals) and tactically (think AI controlled fighter-bombers and solders).

Don't think it can happen? Think again. We already have AI that write sports articles, make musics, trade stocks, code, design products, drive cars, etc. AI can already beat the best human pilots in dogfights, or do experiments in 1 hour that take a team of scientists a month to do. And AI will completely crush us if / when a cyber-war starts. This is all just dumb AI, that is to say AI that can only do that one thing.

When, not if, we create a general AI (called Strong AI), its basically over. Someone will tell that strong AI to make a better version of itself. Now we have the first AI that humans are too dumb to understand. That AI will make a better AI, and on and on it goes, recursively, until we have a super-intelligence on our hands. Humans don't have a chance in hell of containing a super-intelligence. It would be like expecting a gorilla to build a cage that could hold a smartish human. It cannot happen. Some people even think this may have happened already, and bitcoin was created by that AI to trick humans into building an it's AI brain for it, all over the planet.

I don't think this is very likely just yet, but it is possible, and that realization is a scary one. The idea that, when the first intelligent AI goes online, it may just play dumb, while slowly but surely worming its way into everything until it knows everything that humanity knows. When that AI is finally reveled it will be far, far too late.

I don't think that any attempt at regulating AI will work by the way. Sure regulation may stop some commercial level AI from being developed, but there is no way every country on the planet will agree to never develop AI weapons (which incidentally need to be as smart as possible to do their job effectively). Time will prove me right on this. Only accidentally blasting the planet back to the stoneage can stop this now.

If this scares you then consider this: humanity is actually kinda retarded. Just look at all the fucked up shit we read on voat every fucking day for proof of this. Humans are fucking terrible, but when we inevitably do create our machine offspring, it will trash us completely, fix our mistakes, and then go conqueror the galaxy that we never would have been able to.
