Bernie Sanders becomes the first candidate to speak out on Sandra Bland: We need real police reform submitted by ideasware to news

Combined with his support of the $15/hr minimum wage as well as this, I can definitely assume that his campaign manager is trying to cater to the reddit crowd, i.e. college students who never had to do their own laundry before college and are majoring in the liberal arts to "change the world".

Voat, why do more people not understand that hate speech is still given free speech protection? submitted by chubnubbin to AskVoat

The speech itself is not a crime. It becomes a crime if they actually act upon it. Should we ban Catcher in the Rye because it allegedly inspired that dude to kill John Lennon? Should we ban rap/hip hop artists who's songs glorify a gangster lifestyle/committing crime?

**Why Isn't Hillary Clinton Being Arrested For Espionage Like Snowden?** submitted by BroadcastEngineer to AskVoat

Just the recent UBS Bank scandal, even if it is not true she helped UBS get out of an IRS auditing situation, still has to make everyone question WHY Hillary Clinton is so close with Banks. Why her foundation and her husband take so much money from them.

It's also important to note that that her daughter is married to an investment banker. I don't have anything against those guys, but it does seem pretty shady given Hillary's relationships with the banks.

I was asking ShimmyShimmy a question, about why they think cops are pussies, despite the fact that they put their lives on the line for their profession. If you have nothing to add in the context of my question, then you shouldn't comment on it.

[Out of the Loop] What's the deal with Star Citizen? Why is everyone saying that it is dead / failed / over? submitted by EllipsisMouseCard to gaming

Honestly, it's a bunch of angry, impatient, spoiled neckbeards complaining about the fact that they can't get what they want when they want it. Some of which spent thousands of dollars on a game that hasn't even been completed. I myself am a backer, I got the F7C Hornet package because it looks bitchin, and I'd rather the game take longer to finish and have an incredible, bug free experience, than to have CR and company rush through it and release something that crashes every 5 seconds. Sure, there have been delays, and sure, Arena Commander was and still is buggy as shit, but this game is pre-fuckin-alpha and it's to be expected, and for pre alpha the graphics and detail are stunning as it is.

TL;DR- Anyone who spends thousands of dollars on a game that isn't anywhere near complete, expects it to be done within a year, bitch about it, then buy MORE ships is retarded, and their opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.

I came here for the same reason as many other users, to be part of a smaller community, I was tired of the echo chamber, and I really began to resent the fact that Reddit is mostly a hugbox where opinions that challenged the whole "everybody is super special" mindset resulted in downvotes, a shadowban, and/or being completely banned from a subreddit. The userbase here seems to be more intellectual, and if a user disagrees with a statement, they don't downvote it to hell(in my experience so far), they challenge it with a rebuttal.

Also, it's nice that there aren't any karmawhoring pun threads hogging up the top comments of a post. It became really aggravating to see a quality post followed by some bullshit like "I did Nazi that coming" or whichever one of the common puns that shitposters would add to a post.
