The problem becomes the ambiguous nature of morals. While one sub may have no problem with name calling, if it became a default then lost it because of people complaining it becomes an issue where the hate mob can find any reason to take a sub's default status that they earned.

Is KiA trying to be a "safe space"? submitted by MaleGoddess to GamerGate

I'm not sure if you mean rules when you say laws, because no it didn't violate laws, but it did violate rules which they labeled out for you it looks like. We see under a lot of scrutiny because of slander against us. When someone does come to see our side they need to see the mature side of the debate, not snag screenshots and run back having proved antigamergates point about us. That's why there are decency rules, and you can break rules without breaking laws.

As for your original comment, you hadn't posted it last I checked so I can't see if you were being belligerent or not, I can only look at your initial post to draw a guess from.

I completely understand what you were trying to illustrate. However you left the insults there without a retraction. Had you said "now that was just an example" or "that was just to illustrate a point and I hope you don't harm yourself in anyway" the insult would have been an example rather than both an example and a standing insult. That's the difference between a constructive debate and a sounding like a poor sport (without the retraction it sounds like you're losing your cool and trying to fling insults while proving a point).

One of the more popular theories I read is that because they are such close friends he is propping her up for a lawsuit against reddit. Making posts like that could be his way of giving her as much ammunition on his way out while he still has the ability to, it has a lot more potential for damage right now rather than after he leaves/gets asked to leave.
