Muslims are ANGRY at Texas Mayor After She Stops "Sharia Court"... Here Is Her EPIC Response submitted by pcdude to news

What worries me is that it could come as close as a 5-4 vote... In Texas especially! I fear many other areas would fail to resist such a push. There's already examples of Scientology and other cults getting away with running their own internal tribunals, claiming their followers are simply volunteering to follow their non-legally-binding "rulings". Which is a tricky argument to make that people can't follow their own self-proclaimed religion. Similar to human trafficking, we have to prove that the "defendants" are actually being abused or manipulated first, not actually voluntary.

WTF does Trump support (or not) have to do with FPH? I would think you guys of all people would be on the anti-PC/anti-SJW train.

Bernie Sanders: "My legislation will eliminate federal, state and local contracts for privately run prisons within 2 years." submitted by FinnTheHuman to news

Are any of the privately run prisons doing a good job?

Because the profit motive here is to encourage repeat offenders and keep the prison full, not rehabilitation. (Not to mention scandals like giving kickbacks to judges to get "more business".) Incompetence is a lesser evil than intentionally being counter-productive—and probably still incompetent anyway (it's not like "customer service" is a concern.)

Glad you know what all your users need better than they do. Because clearly everyone needs USB and to muck around in their filesystem.

Except a lot of those chips are actually custom designed by Apple, for example the main CPU itself, so...?

You might realize the lightning port actually has USB support... (which is how most (all?) the accessories work... for example the camera connector). But sure, if there's a specific app or accessory that isn't supported... well you would think the users of that app/accessory would realize this.

And funny, the whole point of Java being the OS abstraction, so really it sounds like someone else is screwing up there.

Edit: and also from the number of iOS devices I've seen being used for point-of-sale, I'm surprised there's no chip and pin reader. At a glance, there is a bluetooth model, which moots the USB concern anyway.
