The end of privacy as we know it: 60 Minutes uncovers huge mobile phone security vulnerabilities submitted by Ex-Redditor to technology

Wow, they actually say "hopefully it's the police that tapped my phone" a couple times in there. How about nobody taps my phone. Do they not realize that once you open a hole, anyone can get in, or do they just not care? It's almost worth lining a pocket in my backpack with tin foil for device storage.

How much would the security stuff in windows affect me if I was dual booting with linux? submitted by Omegametroidhunter to technology

And if you encrypt the home drive, they only way it can be accessed is by logging in to that account. Unless you're somehow booted into Window AND logged into the linux user account, it couldn't be accessed.

"I just can't understand how anybody can think it's OK to send horrible comments to people online."

Did she not listen to a single word he said? It's not complicated: if a random strangers words can hurt you so much as to be "traumatized," then don't go to a place where literally anyone in the world can yell at you.

Feminist lives as a Man for 18 months to try to prove "Male Privilege". Learns Women are more Privileged than Men. submitted by ParadigmShift to videos

Oh great, another post about "privilege." Use the word and you end up with both men and women whining like fucking babies. Let's keep stoking the shit-fire, though. Get everyone pissed off over a word rather than the real issues at hand. The last five seconds of the video ruin it.

Very interesting video, though, a good watch. Heterosexual women wanting to continue a sexual relationship after learning she's a woman really blew me away.

It wasn't too difficult. I had a laptop next to me with the beginners guide opened up. I can't quite remember, but I got it on the first or second go. I went with Arch so I can learn by struggling, and I'd say I have. My plan is to try making an install script so I can back up my configs, wipe the drive, and reinstall. I still run into little bugs here and there from when I first installed, but I think the second go will be a lot smoother.

If you're trying to learn the ins and outs of linux, I think Arch is a pretty good way to go. You learn a lot when you have to google your way through the first week or two. Hell, I used Lynx for a couple days while I figured out how to configure X. If you want a distro that works out of the box, there are plenty to choose from.
