Where did Obama mess up? submitted by shmuklidooha to politics

He campaigned on change. Nothing changed, at least not for the better.

Transparency was one of the changes that was to come. Instead there is less and crushing of whistle blowers is worse than ever before.

That's what I've see people complaining about anyway...

Do you consider the concept of socialism in America to be frightening? submitted by RedbeardJones to whatever

What scares me more is government spending that reaches socialistic levels, with few of the benefits. In plain terms: the U.S. today.

Are we allowed to mention or discuss piracy like normal human beings on Voat? submitted by septopus to technology

Very well said. It seems to be the way we are going as a culture: using strong pejorative terms against people or ideas we don't agree with.

Free personal finance software, with good budget ability submitted by xoitus to finance

I've been using this for about 5 years. If you want desktop and aren't interested in feeding your banking logins directly into websites or software, this is a good option. I prefer the interface to Gnucash and it has the nicest budgeting features I've found in a free desktop app. Since budgeting is what I was looking for, this was a big win.
