I don't know that the idiots supporting Trump were ever true Ron Paul supporters.

Trump compares himself to Sanders: 'I'm not a fan of Bernie ... but he wins, like me' submitted by cynoclast to politics

If you support Bernie, you might be an illogical shitbird. While this election may not be adequately described as a false dichotomy, it is a Morton's fork.

Depending on the scope you look at, you could say there are multiple options that are all either extreme or extremely time-consuming. In general, you can accept the leaders you never wanted or revolt. Yes, that could be a peaceful revolt that takes more than a lifetime to accomplish, but you will almost certainly be undermined by people with all the power. So, you have two viable options, and even violent revolt would be, in some ways, long and painful. Moreover, in the scope of this election, you are presented with Trump or Hillary. That's it. No recourse to this injustice is viable in the near term. Throwing your vote away is the same as not making a choice unless you somehow convinced everyone to vote a new way.

I disciplined one of my black students and the college fired me: professor submitted by CANCEL-CAT-FACTS to news

tcp 10 points -8 points (+2|-10) ago

Teaching or enforcing conformity? You haven't explained what it has to do with learning in a college-level course. Also, the article says it was a homework assignment. When I was allowed to have handwritten notes for an exam in a university class, they always allowed a full sheet of paper out of convenience. Double-sided, small writing, typed, whatever. Petty restrictions don't make sense. Almost any exam can be set up so that having a massive amount of notes won't help if you don't know the material.

Universities have entered the 21st century. Students should be handing in all digital formats for any kind of homework. I don't understand calling your professor a dick, but I also don't understand why buying and using the correct-sized index card is so important. If the professor needed the same-sized index cards for some kind of lame in-class exercise, then the professor should have provided the index cards for the whole class. I guess they aren't trying to teach you efficiency in a political science class though...
