Women DO NOT Earn Only 77 Cents On The Dollar For The Same Work For The Love of God STOP Saying This submitted by TexasComments to politics

It's a terrible myth which allows women who enter the work force with no experience or relative education to have a platform to demand special treatment when in reality it's shown that if they were to take on careers in the same fashion as men they could make just as much money. The issue should not be a mythical pay gap, the issue should be outlined as a lack of females in the professional workforce, and having more men stay home to raise children.

My miserable ex-wife is doing this right now with her & her new boyfriends baby. Took FMLA because "her doctor ordered it" and quit her minimum wage job to be a stay at home mom. Glad my excessive child support is paying for her new kid and all the stupid shit she buys for my kids instead of being a productive member of society and teaching them how to be independent and successful.

Okay you've got 5 minutes from the moment you walk through the front door of any store. There is no spending limit. What are you gonna get? submitted by Dumbtickles to AskVoat

I like this one. On a similar note, I wonder if I could go to the Federal Reserve and buy a $100 billion bailout because I'm broke?

Can we lift the restrictions on upvoating comments and posts for the first few months? As a long time Reddit user it is incredibly frustrating not being able to shape the content on this site submitted by somecallmemike to ideasforvoat

I have to disagree, on Reddit I used my votes to hide content after I had voted on it to get a fresh front page. I voted on everything, every single post I saw so I could get to new content. A lot of the time I added discussion, but at least I could have a say in whether I felt the content was worth seeing by voting on it. This site was created to be a new Reddit, and I didn't mean to say we should completely abandon what Reddit was because it worked. I am saying that we should not restrict user input, which is what I thought was the core philosophy of Voat. Some time down the road we will certainly be a target for governments, trolls, corporations, anyone that has a stake in shaping the ideas of the people on the site. But for now we should allow everyone to have a say so we get some traction.

"Most of the loopholes in the tax code were designed by the rich and politically connected" Rand Paul proposes flat 14.5 percent tax without special provisions submitted by johnparish to randpaul

A flat tax is a thinly veiled giveaway to the same rich people he is attempting to vilify. When you make $30,000 a year you spend every single penny of that money on living expenses, and pay taxes on all of it. When you make $10,000,000 a year you don't magically eat 100 times as much food, require 100 times as many pairs of pants, or need 100 times as many internet subscriptions. Most of your money is going into some form of investment or capital gains scheme to attempt to profit without paying taxes or paying as little as possible. Fuck Rand Paul and every one of the pieces of shit in Washington and on Wall Street attempting to convert the masses into a milk cow that the rich can feed off of. We deserve prosperity and a non-progressive tax system will levy the entire burden on people who can least afford it.

You actually think that what he says as a candidate will translate to what he and the "politically connected" Washington insiders decided to do to us?
