To say that Bernie's politics is like USSR's, is a bit like saying that humans are monkeys. Yes, somehow you are correct, but a closer examination quickly proves the argument void. I suggest, as a political exercise, to ignore personal ideologies and try to take an objective look at Bernie's arguments to find out whether you really support him. Then you can look at your ideologies again and figure out whether these ideas really are you. More often than not are political/ideological inclinations based on social inheritance rather than independent thought. Give it a shot!

Fair enough, I guess it was an overstatement, but to suddenly make the site invite only (without anyone actually being able to invite), employ anti-DDOS that breaks app-compatability and making arrangements with unknown investors — all without explaining much to the community. I might be a bit idealistic in my expectation of what a site like this should be, but in my ears that sounds quite authoritarian.

But off course, I have a lot of respect for the work they do and that the site is in its infancy. It's more of a request than a critique.

Absolutely, but a two-sentence announcement of it would help greatly, and shouldn't take more than a few minutes. They have 28 contributors on github, and I'm sure they can get much more help from the community if they just ask for it.

Atko will probably be posting an announcement on Voat's status on Monday submitted by OhBlindOne to news
