AT&T decides 4G is now "5G," starts issuing icon-changing software updates submitted by daskapitalist to technology

It's not about Trump exactly, but the FTC regulates deceptive advertising. If a wireless company is making a deceptive claim about the kind of technology it is using, that's something the FTC would have the authority to stop. The Republican majority FTC is probably less likely to do anything than a Democratic FTC, but who knows.

Trump has lost 1bil since he ran for pres. Interesting considering every other politician makes millions in office... submitted by Chiefpacman to whatever

Yikes, this is so cringey.

You hero worship a guy who has spent his career lying and scamming people. Look up any of the court documents in the Trump University litigation. He illegally scammed people out of thousands of dollars with false promises. Or look up how he's cheated contractors and business partners for decades. He's cheated on all 3 of his wives, including by raw dogging porn stars. He brags about grabbing women by the pussy without their consent. He committed a felony by willfully violating campaign finance law to pay hush money to one of those porn stars he fucked.

And you will "fight to the death for this man?" You will defend him with all your "heart and soul?" I promise he wouldn't do the same for you. He lied about having bone spurs to avoid fighting in Vietnam.

Posts like this creep me out because what happens if the Mueller report comes out and we have definitive proof that he colluded with Russia? Or any other overwhelming evidence of criminal activity? I think a huge portion of his base will just ignore it. He's like a cult leader.

"The two sentenced [in Feb. 2017], Jose Torres and Kayla Norton, who authorities said yelled racist slurs and threatened the birthday revelers with a shotgun, were the last of the group to be sentenced. They wept in a Douglas County courtroom as a judge imposed their punishments: Torres, 26, convicted of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and a violating street-gang statute, received 13 years in prison and another seven on probation; Norton, 25, convicted of making terroristic threats and violating the gang law, will serve 6 years in prison and nine on probation.

Liberal family going ballistic over Trump speech submitted by 00001000001100110101 to whatever

I think it's a complicated issue that deserves a serious solution. I don't support "open borders" and most Democrats don't either. And I would be fine spending more money to make border security more effective in exchange for some more substantive reforms to our immigration system.

And I agree with you that illegal immigrants are at risk of exploitation, and that's a real problem. I also think some tech companies exploit H-1B visas to hire cheaper foreign workers when they could hire Americans. And part of the reason they can exploit the foreign workers is because they control their status in the country (if they leave the job, they could get kicked out of the country). So there are real problems with the system!

That said, I don't see how shutting down the government over $5 billion for a "wall" is going to solve these problems. And Democrats aren't going to just give Trump what he wants for nothing. That's not how negotiations work. He can stomp his feet all he wants, but he needs to offer them something in return.

Anne Frank submitted by goytoynamedtroy to whatever

Nice job ignoring actual evidence. The NYT article is about a report by Dutch forensics experts.

Anti-semites are honestly the biggest cucks. You sit around whining on the internet that there are too many successful Jews? I dunno, maybe try improving your own pathetic life instead of complaining about other people who have made something of themselves.

Congrats on spreading misinformation.

Miss Frank's handwriting was closely analyzed by experts, as were specimens of her writing and those by 78 of her classmates. The experts took into account that sometimes Miss Frank used normal cursive lettering and sometimes a disconnected printing style. This is a common characteristic ''applicable to the writing of young people,'' the experts said. Samples of her writing are included in the book to support their conclusion that the diary was indeed written by Anne Frank alone.

The Forensic Science Laboratory report also points out that the paper, ink and glue in the diary and some of her accompanying loose sheets all existed in the early 1940's, before Miss Frank and her family were betrayed in their hiding place in Amsterdam and sent away to concentration camps.

The glue and fibers used in the binding of the diaries were analyzed by infrared spectrometry. Both were found in common use when Miss Frank wrote her diary. After 1950, a different kind of synthetic glue came into use. Similarly, the paper used in the diary was examined by X-ray fluorescence and found to have been manufactured between 1939 and 1942.

Mainly, Miss Frank used a gray-blue ink for fountain pens in which iron was clearly present. At the time, the report states, ink with a strong iron content was in general usage. Only after 1950 were inks with much less or no iron introduced, the study said

[Frank] died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp three months before the defeat of Nazi Germany
