Texas Jury Sides With Cannabis Grower Who Killed SWAT Officer submitted by datjedi to news

Real cops wait for the person to leave and pull over their car. No muss, no fuss, no dead cops, no dead bystanders, no kids with their eardrums popped and their faces burned off by flash-bang grenades.

Their stated justification was that they thought he had a big drug stockpile and an arsenal to defend it with. If that was the case, the rational strategy would be to provoke the confrontation somewhere away from the purported arsenal. Instead they made sure he was as close as possible to the purported arsenal, at a time when he was likely to be asleep and therefore as confused as possible. In other words, the cops acted to maximize their danger. They weren't policing, they were reenacting their favorite action movie, like a bunch of 12 year old boys. And like children treating guns as toys, somebody got killed.

Torba, who was previously banned from a Silicon Valley group after his support of Donald Trump made other members feel “unsafe,” ...

That Silicon Valley group is Y Combinator. They are the investors who funded Reddit, and their site Hacker News is built on a foundation of shadow bans. They introduced the groupthink system that deletes a comment when a million users give 4 down votes. They are a manipulation engine powered by ostracism.

In short, they are the cesspool into which the South Bay drains.

I don't get it. The backlash, I mean. This is a great joke.

Right! You're getting what I'm saying. It is dark and in poor taste, the ideal low brow joke.

It's not about politics or dislike. It is about taking something well known and making it so horrible that people involuntarily laugh.

For example, Q: Do you know how popular Malia Obama was in high school? A: She tried out for cheerleading and when she did the splits, five class rings fell out.

Or for an older example when the Challenger space shuttle exploded. Q: What does NASA stand for? A: Need another seven astronauts.

Bye Bye: Israel Urges Jews To Leave France, Suspends "Working Ties" With Countries That Voted For UN Resolution submitted by bdmthrfkr to politics

It is my understanding that Israel sincerely tried a peaceful, kid gloves approach. They built a wall, removed settlers from Palestine, and took many friendly measures towards the non-Jews (which include plenty of Christian noncombatants). The response was continued missile attacks, bombings, etc. emanating from Palestine.

The ostensible reason for the U.N.resolution is Israeli aggression. This is a shameless lie. Israel already went looking for the "peace process"and couldn't find it anywhere. What they found was the House of War, which is to say Islam.
