Game Of Thrones's Natalie Dormer: men are as objectified as women on TV submitted by JJEvil to news

kokytus 0 points 52 points (+52|-0) ago

Exactly this. The visual mediums has always objectified both genders, it's fundamental to what they are selling (pictures of people). The outrage of "female objectification" only seems to indicate a lower tolerance among women (or feminists...).

Addendum: this is true for all mediums, if you are representing a character, it is impossible to not objectify it in some way, it is an object in relation to your product.

The way I understand it, you can have a physically female brain and be born in a male body, or visa versa. You can't be born with an armless brain. Counter to some peoples beliefs, gender is tied to physical sex, and transgenderism is tied to it. Ironically some people promote "gender is a social construct" and "don't say transgenderness is a psychological issue" at the same time, not realizing that the one negates the other.

Realized I walked into the wrong restroom, as I met a woman leaving... and nothing happened, I just turned and entered the correct one ;)
