Only the people who designed and made Lumia devices are no longer with Nokia, but either absorbed into Microsoft or out on the street. The next generation of Nokia devices will just be generic android devices manufactured by foxconn et. al

There is no annual licensing scheme; this is just fud being spread by the anti windows 10 brigade. I don't even know why there is an anti windows 10 brigade, all of their apparently major "problems" are non-existent, as they'd realise if they paid a tiny bit of attention to what Windows 10 actually delivers, vs what they've read in clickbait articles.

Annual licensing: NOT going to happen. MS make little money off upgrades, but instead of the sale of OEM and enterprise licenses. OEMs and Enterprise still have to pay.

Automatic upgrades: well i'm sorry you don't like being patched against vulnerabilities, if so get the pro or enterprise version, otherwise in home use the "defer updates" option to slow down what rollout you're in so that any glaring errors get fixed.

My pirated copy of Windows 7/8/whatever will still be inactive if I upgrade to 10. Just go and buy a license. Stop pirating stuff you freeloading shits.

Tiles in the start menu: guess what, you can remove them if you want, it's like a two-click job.

Cortana on the start bar: guess what, you can remove it if you want

etc etc etc

It was a general response to the continual flow of negativity towards Windows 10 from people picking on trivial things that are removable or customisable if they only pay the slightest bit of attention, or actually take a look at the feature instead of blowing their gasket immediately. Thanks for taking it personally, though.

The industry has been moving towards annual licensing for quite some time....

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merry Christmas

Actually some applications do not like being patched against vulnerabilities. We're not all home consumers, you know

So don't use the home edition and you'll have no issues.

I don't really care for this comment.

I'm so, so sorry. SOOOO SOOOO SORRRY.

Skype is not integrated in Windows 10, there is no built in skype app anymore. You need to download the desktop Skype app to use it. This may change when the new messaging suite is released later in the year.

There have never been lockscreen ads in any Windows 10 release. This is FUD.

YMMV. You say tomato, I say tomato. DX12 will be useful going forward.
