Reddit refugees, Why did you find censorship of others acceptable? submitted by plankO to AskVoat

Same reason leftists and the like are more than happy to have speech banned as long as it only affects the bad people. They lack introspection and forward thinking, not realizing that it can just as easily be used against them at any time. The people that take the longest to comes to terms with reality are likely also the biggest hypocrites. They likely also lack much empathy.

Tranny SJWs are attempting to take over Linux submitted by shadow332 to technology

I am so so so sick of all this shit. What are some possible solutions? Clearly, and as you point out, these people don't care one bit about the tech or the functionality of it. They have severe mental illness and it is so obvious from their ridiculous behavior, they're completely unhinged (and the platforms they frequent just let it flourish instead of stamping it out). I've been a long-time Linux fan and have been using it full-time for the last year. I constantly feel like a rug we to cannot see is constantly being pulled from under us.

And again; what can be done?

Citizen Pedophile Hunter Arrested for Catching Child Predators Better than Police submitted by fluxusp to news

fortuitouslyunfallen 3 points 38 points (+41|-3) ago

Devil's advocate, but couldn't this potentially interfere with the people's due process? I mean isn't he essentially doxxing people he believes are pedophiles before they have their day in court? I understand that he would have contacted them online and they may have turned up to meet what they thought were underage people, but that's not my point. I know voat is staunchly anti-pedo, but I'm not defending pedophiles, I'm defending due process. If we let it erode for those we despise, then it simultaneously erodes for those we like as well, even though we may not witness it right away.

Climate change is kind of the new Y2K bug submitted by goatsandbros to Showerthoughts

Yes but the vast majority of iy was alarmist bullshit. You had people selling software that literally did nothing. People made a pretty dime from all that shit.

Climate change is kind of the new Y2K bug submitted by goatsandbros to Showerthoughts

Why is it then that places that didn't bother implementing any "fixes" didn't have negative repercussions? Nothing bad or catastrophic happened after Y2K, which would have been the case if it was as bad as alarmists said it would have been because one of either two things was ever going to happen: A) There would have been some stragglers that didn't bother with any fixes, or B) Some outright refused to put any changes into effect. In either case if what you're saying was true then we would have seen some major issues either way, but we didn't. In your scenario you're saying that it was only because everyone magically was able to fix every computer just in time, which is a ludicrous statement. This isn't the movies, man.

Why do people put the Monster energy drink logo on their cars? submitted by Pop-up-king to whatever

Why do people put the Monster energy drink logo on a post on the Internet when it could have just as easily been a text post?
