Anecdotes gonna Anecdote.

Mowed your lawn? So you own a house?

Your whole thesis is people are socially inept? Do you imagine everyone showing up with blue hair, and claiming 3 genders? Most people are pretty normal not this vocal minority of crazy lazy liberals. My boss is exactly like you, cept he was telling me a story the other day when he was in high school he got a job working at a chicken factory making twice the minimum wage. Its comforting just to blame people and assert personal responsibility. Circumstances affect ones ability to choose.

Ive worked countless jobs, restaurant/bar industry and now I have 5 years IT experience. Currently working contract for HP for a year and half now. I do high level work , they tell me they want to hire me but cant afford to. I make 33k/yr and I am 31. Plenty of us out here working our asses off and don't get paid shit. I have recommendations from the Master Networking Tech of 25 years with HP and even with that I still cant get hired. Guy I know that has tons of education and experience was working for Cisco, lost his job as they outsourced his job to Taiwan. Half the people I work with is via email to people in other countries sometimes luckily just other cities. My gf is a lawyer and cant get hired at a law firm for anything more than 45k range. Shes been working from home instead and taking her own clients. Just because sometihng is working out for you doesn't mean it applies to everyone else. Just because its not working for me doesnt mean it applies to everyone else either. But looking around at how many lay offs they do, my managers saying wow he was talented and we laid him off. Friend at Hitachi same story, its the same story across the board. I have no idea what field to go into to break into middle class wages. All I really want to make is 48k. Don't tell me I need a degree, because I've tried applying to jobs lying saying I have one and it didnt matter either. So even if I had a degree it wouldn't matter. I get employers to respond to my applications all the time, the offers are always the same. Shit work for shit pay, and I had better just stay where I am. I can't do construction, was told by a doctor, I have shitty ligaments, already injured my back working as a barback in my 20s. My mom has 20 years accounting experience went back got her degree, all she can find is shit in 15-20/hr range. My dad is sys admin for 20 yrs and he barely makes 80k and has a hard time holding down a job. He actually worked at HP for 5 yrs as well on contract. No one wants to pay for anything. Hes one of the types too to say exactly what you are saying. I dont know why you guys want to rationalize that the job market isn't a shitty situation. Some how you are hard workers and everyone else is lazy and its their fault the market sucks.

Basically you are saying there is guaranteed work out there for everyone as long as your polite, give me a fucking break.

Is anyone else sick of talking about race, nationalism, jews, SJWs, Islam, and Trump all the time? submitted by middle_path to AskVoat

It all depends, it can be difficult what to decide to give credence to. Fundamentalist that think the world is only 6 thousands years old, flat earthers, etc.. I think it matters once you see a real societal effect. The biggest realization of this is Trump was elected. Say what you will about him, supporter, non, whatever. He is a very peculiar character and never would have been elected in any other social climate that the liberals have created.

I say the liberals created this, but thats only the proximate cause. The republicans really started this war, literally and figuratively, think back to Iraq and Afghanistan and the propaganda of Fox News. I mean I am 31, so its possibly just based on the history I have witnessed. It just seems to me Karl Rove and the like engaged in a very well thought out manipulation plan and its come to head. I believe it started before then, cant remember whom I was listing to but they mentioned Newt Gingrich. They didnt start as crazy as the liberals, but they acted crazy enough to drive the liberals crazy. Now Im not really blaming the republican party, it was a tactic and very successful, but I think its crossed into territory they didn't want to go. Unless you are the type of republican that wants government to be destroyed as a way to reduce government. No one ever reduces their power though, regardless of the party in position, they just continue to expand all legislative powers both sides want to take rights away, they just argue over which ones.
